After the first game of this series (a disappointing loss), it looked as if it would be the same old story the rest of the week. However, thanks to brilliant starts by Vin Mazzaro and Josh Outman, the A's have bounced back to take two out of three, and are in a position to win the four game series against the White Sox with a win today.
Brett Anderson will take the mound for the A's, coming off his worst start of the season against the Rangers last week. He apparently also has a cold. He has his work cut out for him; he'll be facing a formidable opponent in LHP Mark Buehrle, who had pitched very well this season.
The A's will send out Crosby, Cunningham, Davis, and Petit against him. I wish I was kidding. This one looks like a foregone conclusion...but you never know. It is LongTimeFan's birthday, and stranger things have happened in baseball.
Let's go Oak-land!
