Ticket update: We have reached our goal of 30 tickets for the A's/Dodgers game on Tuesday, June 16. If you have paid me for a seat, you should have received a confirmation email today. I am waiting on a couple more payments, and I am planning to purchase the tickets tomorrow morning. If you have not yet heard from me, and you want to go, contact me at baseballgirl1976 at hotmail ASAP, since the final number will be entered tomorrow. We still need about 8 more tickets to the A's/Padres on June 20th; if you live near the San Diego area, we'd love to have you!
Josh Outman and the A's try to build on Mazzaro's fantastic debut last night, as the team tries to guarantee at least a series split with a win tonight. Outman has quietly built up a few great starts, and has improved his season numbers to the tune of a 2-0 record with a 3.06 ERA.
The A's offense will be facing off against Clayton Richard, a solid starter so far for the White Sox.
I found this game note to be of some interest:
Outfielder Travis Buck, on the 15-day DL with a strained left oblique since May 30 and eligible for activation June 16, is not being allowed to swing the bat -- no tee work, no cage work, nothing -- but he remains convinced he could have played through the injury. He had three hits, including a home run, in the first game of a doubleheader at Texas on Friday, but he asked to sit out the nightcap for fear of tearing the muscle and was placed on the DL the following day. He played catch in front of the dugout with Geren during batting practice Tuesday and said he was pain-free.
Tonight's lineups look like this:
It looks like the struggling Suzuki will get a much-needed game off tonight, while a pile of righties will try to do some damage against the lefty. Rajai Davis is in center tonight.
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
