Game 1 Final Score: Rangers 6, A's 3
Josh Outman pitched great in Game 1, striking out a career high 9 in 6.2 IP and allowing just 3 hits, but was pulled after 101 pitches because Bob Geren saw a game that was becoming dangerously close to being an A's win and took swift and decisive action. Back to back HRs off of Santiago Casilla in the 8th did the trick, and so the A's try to salvage a split behind Edgar Gonzalez, matched up against Scott Feldman. Highlights for the A's in Game 1 included a two-run HR by Travis Buck and a 3-hit game from Adam Kennedy.
