Open Thread: Game 45 - A's at Texas

Well, I hope you like baseball, because you're going to get a lot of it today. It is time for FRIDAY DOUBLEHEADER!

Yes, I know that doubleheaders are hard to win. Yes I know that it's a long day. But LET'S PLAY TWO! (As is always the case with the 2009 Oakland Athletics, I reserve the right to change my mind; we'll see how it goes.)

In the opening game, which starts in about a half hour, the A's stopper Josh Outman will try to continue his excellent pitching; he has posted a 2-0 record with a 0.92 ERA in his last three starts.

With yesterday's off-day, the bullpen should be rested for today's marathon. The A's offense looks to come back after they were shut down on Wednesday afternoon; they will be matched up against Texas' Brandon McCarthy.

Kennedy will be batting in the 2-hole today, and we see Travis Buck!

The lineups are as follows:

Texas:

Kinsler, 2B
Young, 3B
Hamilton, CF
Jones, A, DH
Cruz, N, RF
Byrd, LF
Davis, C, 1B
Saltalamacchia, C
Andrus, El, SS

Oakland:

Cabrera, SS
Kennedy, 2B
Cust, DH
Holliday, LF
Giambi, 1B
Suzuki, C
Sweeney, R, CF
Buck, RF
Hannahan, 3B

LET'S GO OAK-LAND!
