What a momentous day.
Former A's Frustrator General Rich Harden throws 5.2 shutout innings (striking out 10) for the Cubs ... and the Cubs' bullpen dramatically tried to throw the game away (SF tied it 7-7 with 5 in the 9th, before losing in extras 8-7).
The A's, coming off administering a 9-2 smackdown of the Angels last night (and closing to 4 games back in the process), have a chance to win this hugely important series going into the ASB.
And Athletics Nation gathers at the Coliseum for AN Day V.
As for the game matchup, the A's send out Dana Eveland, who hopefully will take advantage of the Angels' swingmania in the same way that Gallagher did last night. If Dana's season-long control wobbliness results in even the Angels getting a lot of walks, it could be a struggle.
The A's hitters are virtually guaranteed to struggle, as they'll be facing Ervin Santana, who has simply PWN3d the A's in his brief career.
I'll be at the game today, so (1) if someone could post lineups close to gametime, that'd be awesome, (2) I'll have continued game threads set to auto-post at 7:00 & 8:00 & 9:00, and (3) the game wrap may be a little on the late side.
