The A's go up against Scott "The Befuddler" Feldman today in Arlington in an attempt to avert the sweep and break their 4-game losing streak. Greg "Insert Nickname Here" Smith takes the mound for the A's.

For the life of me, I can't understand why or how the Rangers are right on our tails. (Seattle I expected to be pretty bad, albeit not this bad.) This being the Internet, I have three options for explaining the Rangers' success: I could research the Rangers' stats thoroughly, I could contact Rangers bloggers, or I could just pull a guess out of my ass.

This being a half hour before game time, I think I'll go with the latter option.

The Rangers, obviously, are winning games due to their recently sworn undying devotion to Beelzebub, Lord of the Flies.

As for the A's, their souls (or at least those of the batters) are still simon-pure. Barton is back in the lineup, while Chavvy gets half a day off by DH'ing.

Go A's!
