Since Taj's jinx mojo worked so well yesterday, I thought I'd just point out that A's and Red Sox are tied 0-0. Jon Lester has a perfect game going into the 1st! Go Icin' Joe! Go A's!

Lester, for those out of reach of the East-coast Sports Propaganda Network, hucked a nono at the Royals last time out.

Despite the originally gloomy forecasts for the A's offense and the weather, though, things are looking brighter. The A's battered Wakefield on Friday, and got some key hits against a dealin' Beckett yesterday in taking the first two games of the series. Let's hope that success continues today.

As for Joe Blanton, I'm hoping that (a) he keeps the Sox off-base in front of Manny (Ramirez is an odd 10/18 lifetime vs. Joe -- 9 singles and 1 double), and (b) Geren has him on a short hook as he approaches the 6th and 7th innings. I'm not in the "Blanton is mediocre" brotherhood -- but I do think that Joe, when he's been "losing it" this season, he's been losing it around 100 pitches and losing it fast.
