Open Game Thread: Game 65 - A's at Houston

The A's and Chad Go-Go Gaudin with his 6-1 record and 2.43 ERA take on the Astros in the rubber game of the series. The Stros send Jason Jennings to the mound with an 0-1 record and a 2.70 ERA.

Jennings had a pretty good year last year with the Rockies, despite his 9-13 record he still sported a 3.78 ERA and that's not bad pitching in Colorado. Of course last year was the first time in four seasons that he had an ERA under five. So either he started to understand how to pitch finally or he just had a fluky year. Based on his ERA so far this year, it's probably the former.

The A's send out this lineup to take on Jennings:

Kotsay
Ellis
Swisher
Chavez
Johnson
Crosby
Cust
Kendall
Gaudin

Gaudin still sits in the top five in all of baseball in terms of ERA two months into the season and the A's have four of their starters in the top 40 in all of baseball. If you'd told me at the beginning of the year that an American League team would have four starters in the top 40 in ERA and asked what team you were talking about, I would've immediately said either the Tigers or Angels. I'm not sure if it's going to continue for the rest of the season, but it sure has been a hell of a ride so far.

The Astros lineup look like this:

Loretta
Pence
Berkman
Lee
Lamb
Munson
Burke
Everett
Jennings

Anyone want to call Kendall going yard two days in a row? <crickets>

LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!!
