Open Thread: Game 52 - A's vs. Rangers

After their rough game last night, both offensive and defensively, the A’s try to bounce back with a series win this afternoon against the Texas Rangers. On the hill for the A’s will be Danny Haren, and I’ll just borrow a clip from Matt Smith at MLB.com to introduce him:

What else can be said about Dan Haren? Not much.

Haren has been nothing short of phenomenal this year, posting an American League-leading 1.70 ERA and a WHIP (walks plus hits per innings pitched) of 0.89.

The A’s need him in a big way today, as they try to continue to tread water while waiting for some much needed help off the DL. The A's get a huge boost with Bradley coming back, but unfortunately, it looks like Duchscherer has suffered a setback, so no closer relief in sight. Good luck, Alan Embree!

Facing Haren will be LHP John Koronka. Hmmmm...new lefty against our offense. Maybe they’ll surprise us.

Starting Lineups:

Texas

Lofton
Young
Teixeira
Sosa
Catalanotto
Byrd
Kinsler
Vazquez
Laird

Oakland

Stewart (LF)
Buck (RF)
Swisher (1B)
Bradley HELLOOOOOO MILTON!
Johnson (DH)
Chavez (3B)
Crosby (SS)
Scutaro (2B)
Kendall (C)

Obviously, this is a lineup I absolutely love, right down to Swisher at first. Let’s see what it can do!
