Twisting the knife a little deeper in Haren, MLB announces that the A's wins leader (obviously meaning Joe Blanton), will be taking the mound today against Odalis Perez. Blanton (4-1, 3.48 ERA) has pitched so much better than I could have dreamed, and he always pitches well against the Royals. We need him to continue that tonight.
As the A's face the lefty on the mound tonight, I'm hoping that Chavez is just getting the night off for rest. I don't want to hear otherwise.
