Open Game Thread: Game 37 - A's vs. Royals

The A's and Danny Haren with a 3-2 record and a 1.89 ERA take on the Royals (again) and Gil Meche (again) and his 3-1 record and a 2.15 ERA.

Hopefully the A's offense remains hot and gives Danny some run support tonight. It's going to be number two and three in terms of ERA in the American League, so it's going to be tough to score runs off of Meche.

The A's lineup looks like this:

Buck
Swisher
Chavez
Bradley
Johnson
Cust
Crosby
Ellis
Kendall

Buck batting leadoff? Hmmmm...well, he does have exceptionally good plate discipline and doesn't really have the pop of Swisher, so it's worth a try.

The Royals counter with this lineup:

DeJesus
Grudzielanek
Teahen
Sweeney
Costa
German
Gordon
Buck
Pena

Is it only me that every time I see DeJesus' name, I think of The Big Lebowski and John Turturro's character who is fond of licking bowling balls? You know, "Nobody f%^&s wit da Jesus."

Any way, here's to the A's continuing to surprise me. I honestly believed that the team would be fading back with all it's been through, but that's what makes the green and gold so special. They continue to surprise when all the chips are down.

LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!!
