After yesterday's rare off-day by the A’s starting pitching, the A’s still find themselves in the position of a another possible series win by taking today’s game. Chad Gaudin (2-1, 2.40 ERA) will take the mound for the A’s, coming off a brilliant start in Kansas City, and will be opposed by Cliff Lee (1-0, 3.60 ERA), a pretty good lefty pitcher, who basically owned the Angels his last time out. A key for the A’s would be to make him throw pitches, because he will, and the A’s could find themselves a few extra baserunners (hopefully on base when Cust hits his daily homerun).
However, as well as Gaudin has been pitching, the Indians are not the Royals; this is a good team, and if the A’s can sneak out a series win today, it would certainly be a good sign.
