Open Thread: Game 21 - A's vs. Seattle

Good afternoon and welcome to the early edition of the game thread! Due to an unforeseen scheduling event <cough>baseballgirlgoingtotheAmericanIdolcharityeventtonight</cough>, today’s game will be brought to you by an assortment of our finest front-page writers.

Going for the win today will be Joe Blanton, who, in Morgan-esque irony, has the highest ERA among the starters, yet leads the team in wins.

He will not be facing Felix Hernandez, one of the many, many casualties of This Month in Baseball Injuries, but rather will be opposed by Miguel Batista. You might remember him from the pounding we did the last time we faced him. Of course, we had a totally different team then. I’m not asking for much today, just for our little double-A squad to score enough to win.

Update: It actually may be Washburn pitching today due to the rainout yesterday - thank you special agent A for the heads-up.
