Open Thread: Game 11 - A's vs. Yankees

It’s always a lively and intense affair when the Yankees make their annual (thanks again, MLB schedule-makers) visit to Oakland. Expect large crowds that can only agree on one thing: A-Rod should probably be booed. How ironic, considering the Yankees have been buoyed by the Bronx’ favorite whipping boy; A-Rod leads the league with 6 HRs and 16 RBI.

Meanwhile, the Yankees can commiserate with both the A’s and Angels in the race to place an entire starting rotation on the DL. New York is now down Chien-Ming Wang, Mike Mussina, and Carl Pavano (just scratched from tomorrow's start with a sore elbow), and so this weekend the A’s will see Kei Igawa followed by Darrell Rasner and Andy Pettitte. Tonight, the A’s counter with Danny Haren and the 0.69 ERA that has earned him a record of 0-2.

As for the starting lineups, hey, what do you know—Bradley’s “day-to-day, really could have played Wednesday, if necessary” has turned into, “Eh, not tonight…”
