As you have probably noticed, I've been making a few changes here and there with AN. We now have six front page contributors if you include Brad Ziegler who, as you can see below, has agreed to do his column weekly for AN instead. I don't think he anticipated how inquisitive all of AN could and would be.
But Nico, baseballgirl, monkeyball, louismg and myself will all be contributing to the front page at various times. You can almost view it as AN's rotation with me being the Jason Windsor of the crew.
When I started Athletics Nation, I never intended for this site to be a soapbox for me to preach my views on the Oakland Athletics. It was always intended to be a community effort and a place for A's fans to gather and that's why I've taken the time to add community writers to the front page. AN was always intended to reflect the A's fan community, and not just one fan's opinion. Thus I've gotten a cross-section of people, a few who don't live in the area, a couple of truly funny fans who have unique takes on the game and a minor league player on the verge of breaking through to the big leagues.
So I'm really excited about this upcoming season on AN because we have a great diversity in people writing for this site. Including those who would, gasp, dare disagree with me. Don't worry, Nico, the AN ninjas will go easy on you. Heh.
2007 should be an intriguing season for the Oakland Athletics. They could either be great if all the pieces fall into place or they could wind up as low as last place. I honestly believe that given the unknowns about health. If you want to hear more about what I believe about the A's 2007 chances, listen to the podcast I recently did with Joe Aiello and the Big League Baseball Report. I'll soon get to talking about 2007 and it's about 10 days now until spring training officially gets cranking for the A's.
Meanwhile, AN hasn't taken a day off. My goal is to continue to provide you with the best team blog/community online.
