Last year, all of AN gathered together to donate $3,500 towards four partial season tickets we donated to an Oakland charity called Sports4Kids. They put the tickets to good use, getting probably around 160 kids to A's games who haven't had the chance to see a live baseball game before. They provided letters and photos throughout the year so people could see the kids enjoying the game and their gratitude. But it didn't seem to have a lot of legs. By that I mean, the posts about the kids and their experiences didn't get a lot of comments and/or seem to strike a lot of interest. And in order to be able to afford $3,500 tickets, we'd need to get a LOT of people on board to do it.
I'm opening it up to a vote to AN to see if the community wanted to participate in something similar this season. I just wanted to figure out if this is a one-time deal by ANers or the community wants to see this become an annual effort.
Please let me know what you'd like to do below. I've added a poll for you to vote on. Thanks in advance for your input.
Should AN donate partial season tickets to an Oakland charity again in 2007?
