The A's and Rich Harden with a 3-0 record and a 3.79 ERA take on the Mariners and Jake Woods with a 6-3 record and a 3.88 ERA.
The 15-game streak is over and let's just hope it doesn't go the other way. Most of the Mariners hitters are of the impatient ilk, so perhaps Harden can stretch those 75 pitches out and minimize the damage on an already hurting group of pitchers.
The A's lineup is typical of the group facing left-handers over the past half season or so.
Kendall
Kielty
Bradley
Thomas
Payton
Chavez
Swisher
Ellis
Scutaro
None of the A's hitters have faced the former Angels prospect very often. So we shall see how the offense reacts to that. I love the A's lineup when facing lefties, so hopefully the offense continues to put up runs all night.
The Mariners lineup looks like this:
Bloomquist
Lopez
Beltre
Ibanez
Sexson
Broussard
Betancourt
Snelling
Rivera
Sexson has had some good success against Harden in the past and he's really the only Mariner hitter with significant ABs against King Richard who has had success. Hopefully Harden does his part and goes right after the hitters from the start.
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!!!!!!!
