Dear Diary,
It's the first inning. Nothing has really gone Zito's way. He hasn't gotten a single curve over and I'm worried about his fastball speed.

Hearts,
BBG

Dear Diary,
It's the second inning. The game is tied and there are two runners on with no one out for the Devil Rays. Without help from Jason Kendall's 'intangibles', we'd be down in this game.

Kisses,
BBG

Dear Diary,
<sqeeeeee!> Frank Thomas is, like, so hot! I hope he asks me to the dance! He can bring Swisher, too!

Hugs,
BBG

Dear Diary,
It's the fifth inning. I know we're low on bullpen arms, but our starting pitching...quite frankly...sucks. I'm okay with Macha leaving Zito in today; there weren't really a lot of other options, but I'm curious about the future. In the playoffs, could our manager really shut down a starting pitcher early in the game, to avoid the 4-spot?

Yours,
BBG

Dear Diary,
Why is the tying run always up for the Rays?

Cordially,
BBG

Dear Diary,
I miss Mark Kotsay. When he's not in, Payton 'plays' center field, and DJ either has to be in to play first or Kielty is in the outfield. I also miss our pitching. And our lights-out bullpen.

Sincerely,
BBG

Dear Diary,
I really used to like baseball. And must Gatorade rub that stupid commercial in our faces every single game?

BBG

Dear Diary,
It's the seventh inning. I heart Eric Chavez, too! Maybe he can hold my purse while Frank and I are dancing!

Hopefully,
BBG

Dear Diary,
Jay Payton and Dan Johnson are totally uninvited to the dance. And my pool party next week too.

Spitefully,
BBG

Dear Diary,
I'm so voting for JFK for bullpen president.

Politically,
BBG

Dear Diary,
What is that weird burning sensation in my chest, and why am I short of breath during A's games? And why are the A's baserunning like the Angels?!?

Heart-attackly,
BBG

Dear Diary,
More than just chicks dig the long ball.

Dreamily,
BBG

Dear Diary,
Addendum to the 'long ball' digging: A's homeruns are sexy; D-ray's homeruns are not.

Disgustedly,
BBG

Dear Diary,
I'm going to re-invite Dan Johnson to the dance, if nothing else than for ending the game while the A's were still ahead. And if they win, I'll invite the Blue Jays too!

Salsa-ly,
BBG

Dear Diary,
There, that wasn't so bad, was it? Now, all we have to do is win or split the next six series and we're going to the playoffs! I wonder what percentage of AN will live through the next three weeks? If it's any consolation, there's two rumors going around that might help: the A's could miss Liriano (who might start Thursday) and Harden looks like he might really be coming back.

Winningly,
BBG
