It's the fifth inning. I know we're low on bullpen arms, but our starting pitching...quite frankly...sucks. I'm okay with Macha leaving Zito in today; there weren't really a lot of other options, but I'm curious about the future. In the playoffs, could our manager really shut down a starting pitcher early in the game, to avoid the 4-spot?

There, that wasn't so bad, was it? Now, all we have to do is win or split the next six series and we're going to the playoffs! I wonder what percentage of AN will live through the next three weeks? If it's any consolation, there's two rumors going around that might help: the A's could miss Liriano (who might start Thursday) and Harden looks like he might really be coming back.
