Eighty-one times this year--or for fully half the season, the A's offense has managed to score more runs than their defense is able to give up. I guess I can't complain too much, but for heaven's sake, it would be a really big help if our starting pitching could remember how to pitch in September.

Thanks to a wonderfully frustrating Angels' loss last night, the A's maintain their lead in the West, and they look to win another series this morning. Barry Zito, who set the tone for the 'Starting Pitchers Suck' brigade last week, takes the mound in search of a win, and quite frankly, I don't care how he gets it.

Wake up! It's A's baseball with your 2006 Oakland Athletics!!!
