Ok, I will stop calling Loaiza "Loozer." I realize that it is disrespectful and I have been made to understand, by two friends of his who threatened to break my knees, that he has been hurt by my rather churlish nickname. It could be, as another AN colleague has pointed out, that the World Baseball thing at the beginning of the year hurt him more than we thought and that he is just now rounding into form. Seems like a long time to me, but I'm willing to be generous. We're in first place, God's in His heaven and all's right with the world.
On another happy front, Wednesday's SoCal TV Watch is definitely a GO. It will be a chance for SoCal ANites to have some fun and cheer the team as it continues its mastery over Seattle. Several AN folks have committed to the festivities, including bon vivant and woman-about-town Baseball Girl, so it looks like it will be a night filled with good cheer, not to mention loud cheers! I've gotten some RSVP's, although none are necessary, and Grunion's in Manhattan Beach is ready for us.. If you'd like to come and you haven't let me know, do so by posting on this thread. The address: Grunion's Sports Bar, 1501 Sepulveda Blvd (west side of the street); Manhattan Beach: 310-545 9910. You don't have to let me know, but I'd like to be able to tell the bar how much room we'll need. This should be a good prelude to BBG's A's Love-In at Angels Stadium at the end of September.
