Open Thread: Game 102 - A's vs. Blue Jays

The A's and Joe Blanton with a 10-8 record and a 4.90 ERA take on the Blue Jays and familiar face Ted Lilly with a 9-8 record and a 3.89 ERA.

So the question is, will be see Good Joe or Bad Joe tonight? I'm hoping that Blanton has finally turned the corner on this season and we'll see the dominating pitcher we saw at the end of the year last year. That could be a huge boost to the team if Joe was to turn things around.

The A's send out their righty-heavy lineup to face Lilly:

Kendall
Kielty
Bradley
Thomas
Payton
Swisher
Chavez
Crosby
Scutaro

By the way, since July 16, Jason Kendall has had multi-hit games in five of the nine games played. He's been pretty darned consistent and been a good leadoff hitter. The A's as a team have hit Lilly pretty well in the past with Kielty, Thomas, Payton, Crosby and Swisher all having averages over .300 and Payton and Swisher over .400.

The Blue Jays send out their revamped and potent lineup:

Johnson
Catalanotto
Wells
Glaus
Overbay
Hinske
Molina
Adams
McDonald

This is a very good hitting club, so if Blanton doesn't have it early, the A's could be in trouble. Watch for Wells and Catalanotto who have hit Smokin' pretty well in limited plate appearances against.

LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!!
