Open Thread: Game 58 - A's at Cleveland

The A's and Barry Zito with a 5-3 record and a 2.87 ERA travel to their house of horrors to take on the Indians and Jake Westbrook with a 5-3 record and a 5.00 ERA.

Zito is pitching extremely well right now, but move aside Mr. Wolff because Westbrook owns our Athletics. Last season, Westbrook sinkered his way to a 3-0 record and a 1.71 ERA against the A's.

That's a scary situation. I really hate trips into Cleveland because 1. They always seem to turn out badly and 2. I'm always going on vacation around the time they take a trip into the Jake. Maybe it's a good time to escape? Still, it would be nice if the A's could keep their nice momentum going since May 31st. They're 4-1 since then and will be challenged to keep it up in Cleveland and New York. Cleveland is much better than their record shows so far.

The A's lineup looks like this:

Kotsay
Swisher
Chavez
Thomas
Crosby
Payton
Johnson
Kendall
Scutaro

Hopefully the A's don't set some kind of record for double plays tonight. Chavez seems to be the only one in the lineup who mashes against Westbrook, hitting .381 and slugging .952 against him. He had three home runs and three doubles off of him. The rest of the A's lineup? Mostly death.

Here is the Indians lineup:

Sizemore
Michaels
Hafner
Martinez
Perez
Peralta
Blake
Belliard
Boone

Sizemore, Martinez and Belliard have hit Zito well in the past. The rest of the lineup hits him kind of like the A's hitting Westbrook.

LET'S GO A'S!!!
