The A's and Ballsy Brad Halsey with a 1-2 record and a 3.60 ERA take on the Royals and Denny Bautista with an 0-2 record and a 4.55 ERA.
None of the A's have ever faced Bautista, who is capable of having a really good outing. His first start this season he went six innings allowing only one run to the White Sox. He also pitched six innings earlier this month, allowing only one run to the Cardinals. He's only 25 years old and you just don't know what kind of performance he's going to have. Unfortunately for the A's lately, that means he's probably going to dominate.
Halsey, on the other hand, has faced several of the Royals. Although they only have a total of 33 ABs against Ballsy, they have a .424 average and a .472 OBP. John Buck has faced Halsey five times and gotten on base all five times, including a walk and a double. Emil Brown has gone 3 for 4 with two doubles.
