Open Thread: Game 4 - A's at Seattle

The A's and Esteban take their show on the road to take on Gil and the Mariners.

So, hopefully Gil looks a lot like this tonight:

And Esteban looks Geico-smooth:

The Mariners took two out of three from the Angels in their opening series. They also scored 20 runs in three games for an average over six runs a game.

Here's the bad news...Loaiza is 0-1 in his last three starts against the Mariners and the Mariners batted .364 in those games. His ERA against Seattle is his highest against any team. The good news? Loaiza has a .783 career winning percentage in April which is the second highest winning percentage of active pitchers (minimum 20 decisions).

The A's lineup looks as follows:

Scutaro
Kotsay
Ellis
Chavez
Johnson
Bradley
Payton
Swisher
Melhuse

Notice the lack of Kendall. Perhaps Macha was serious about giving Kendall more time off this year.

The M's counter with this group:

Suzuki
Lopez
Ibanez
Sexson
Beltre
Everett
Johjima
Reed
Betancourt

Reed is back earlier earlier than I'd originally read.

Let's hope Loaiza makes a good first impression despite his rough career numbers against Seattle.

LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!!
