AL West Preview: Texas Rangers

New, 85 comments

A week ago, the SB Nation bloggers for the AL West, Jeff Sullivan from Lookout Landing, Adam Morris from Lone Star Ball, Reverend Halofan from Halos Heaven and yours truly got together to discuss the upcoming 2006 season, offseason moves and the strengths and weaknesses of the teams.

The Rangers discussion is featured at Lone Star Ball today.

I honestly believe that the Rangers could surprise some people this year. Yes, Adam Eaton could get killed in Arlington and Kevin Millwood has never put together two great back-to-back seasons (02-03 comes close), but I think the Rangers have a prolific offense, a quality bullpen and a few quality young arms about to break through. The Rangers could make a splash this season, especially if the team is able to secure the services of Roger Clemens. Even if they don't, I think they may have surpassed the Angels to be the second-best team in the AL West.

What are some of your thoughts on the Rangers in 2006?
