The A's and Danny Haren with a 13-12 record and a 3.81 ERA take on the Angels and Paul Byrd with a 12-10 record and a 3.72 ERA.
Billy Beane was true to his word in wanting to win these last five games as the A's put out a lineup very close to their everyday lineup. No Matt Watson, Alberto Castillo or Freddie Bynum.
Granted, Kendall is the DH and Scutaro is in at short, but it's pretty much the A's regular crew out there.
Ellis
Kendall
Kotsay
Chavez
Johnson
Swisher
Kielty
Melhuse
Scutaro
The Angels counter with their all-Utah lineup:
DaVanon
Cabrera
Finley
Rivera
Kotchman
Quinlan
Pride
Paul
Sorensen
It would be nice if the A's could somehow win these final five games and reach 90 wins for 2005. That would be a full 25 games better than Mr. Ratto predicted. But that doesn't mean that I would run Harden out there to try and do it, either.
LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!! GREEN AND GOLD PRIDE!!!
