The A's and Barry Zito with a 13-11 record and a 3.64 ERA take on the Indians and A's killer Jake Westbrook with a 14-14 record and a 4.59 ERA.
How good has Westbrook been against the A's this season? He's given up only one run in 14 innings of work while inducing 27 ground outs from the A's. That's a 0.64 ERA. Worse still, he's only given up a total of six hits over those 14 innings.
That's not good news for a team that really needs this win before going into Boston for a four-game series.
The A's lineup that will try to reverse fortunes against Westbrook looks like this:
Ellis
Kendall
Kotsay
Chavez
Hatteberg
Johnson
Payton
Scutaro
Swisher
I'm going to ask and ask again, why can't we move Dan Johnson into the two-hole? He's got the second highest OBP on the team and seems like he would be a great number-two hitter.
Any way, the Indians counter with this lineup against Zito:
Sizemore
Crisp
Peralta
Hafner
Martinez
Belliard
Hernandez
Boone
Blake
At least we don't have to deal with Broussard show tonight.
LET'S GO A'S!!!
