Open Thread: Game 144 - A's at Cleveland

The A's and Los Kirk with a 9-7 record and a 4.06 ERA take on the Indians and Kevin Millwood with a 7-11 record and a 3.11 ERA.

If the A's win tonight, they can clinch a .500 record for the season. They obviously have greater aspirations than finishing at .500, but I would say the rebuilding process has turned out just fine, wouldn't you? This team is now 31-10 on the road over their last 41 road games. In total, they have won 39 games on the road this season which matches their total from the last two seasons.

One interesting note about A's hitters. The A's are on pace for the third fewest number of strikeouts in a non-strike season in Oakland history (811). In contrast to that, the A's have grounded into 129 double plays, which is the third most in the American League.

The A's offense looks like this tonight:

Ellis
Kendall
Kotsay
Chavez
Hatteberg
Payton
Johnson
Scutaro
Swisher

The Indians counter with this lineup:

Sizemore
Crisp
Peralta
Hafner
Martinez
Belliard
Broussard
Boone
Blake

Millwood is a tough pitcher, so let's just hope that Saarloos can keep the Tribe at bay.

LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!!
