An Encouraging Loss

I know, that seems like a oxymoron. And after tonight's game-- where you clearly have to favor the Halos-- we might not be so happy, given the injury front.

But I take a lot of positives from this one:

  1. Cupcakes. See why I've been on the bandwagon?? Too bad they didn't give him that key hit for the win, but seriously did anyone expect this guy to become the second coming of Tim Hudson-- and maybe better-- in his rookie year? Amazing stuff. And done in by a bloop;
  2. Halos bullpen--- between Shields lack of command and the fact that every A's hitter made solid contact vs. KRod, they're still in some trouble. they're gonna keep blowing games--- whether against us or other teams;
  3. Hatty with a key hit. I want Barton but probably won't get him-- but we need Hatteberg to be the 280-290 guy working the count with an occasional long ball, and  not the other variation;
  4. When we lose, it's invariably very tight. Sign of a very good team.
It looks like saarloos is getting the start on Saturday-- but has anyone heard about Cruz and the Rivercats plans? obviously if he comes up tomorrow he could still pitch on Saturday vs. Small.
