The A's and Smokin' Joe Blanton with a 7-9 record and a 4.05 ERA take on the Orioles and Bruce Chen with a 9-6 record and a 4.16 ERA.
The A's have lost two straight games for the first time since July 6-7 against Toronto and only the second time since June 18 the A's lost two straight. Oakland has scored just 19 runs in the first seven games of the homestand after scoring 27 runs in the final two games at Kansas City. But here's the big note...the A's have committed five errors in their last nine games after making just one in their previous 13 games.
The A's lineup looks like this:
Hopefully the top of the lineup picks it up soon because Macha is obviously resisting switching it up. Kielty comes back in the lineup against the lefty.
The Orioles lineup looks like this:
Palmeiro gets back in the lineup. It'll be very interesting to see what the reception for him will be.
As an FYI, I'll be putting up tomorrow's thread early tomorrow morning because I'm heading out to the game.
LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!!
