The A's and King Richard with a 9-5 record and a 2.90 ERA take on the Twinkies and Carlos Silva with a 7-6 record and a 3.42 ERA.
Harden has given up eight earned runs in two starts in August, which is only four earned runs short of what he gave up in six starts in July. Granted, that Angels game could've gone very differently and Harden was clearly overamped, but it will be something to pay attention to.
Silva went eight innings against the A's on August 3rd and only allowed 5 hits, three runs (two earned) and no walks. He also had five strikeouts. Silva has only walked eight people through 152.2 innings pitched. Read that again. EIGHT walks in 152.2 IP. Obviously he's going to pound the strike zone so pick a pitch and jump on it.
The A's lineup looks like this:
I think batgirl mentioned this in the AN Day thread, but Nick Swisher's grandmother passed away. I'm sending him all our AN sympathies because it's been well-documented how close he was with her.
The Twins counter with this lineup:
I wanted to also say thank you to everyone who attended AN Day yesterday. It was so much fun to meet so many of you in person and put a face to the screen names. I said it yesterday, but it's worth repeating here. This is the best damn online community on earth...it truly is like a family. Oh, and Nick's Brady Bunch song in yesterday's thread was just about one of the funniest things I've ever seen.
LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!! KEEP THAT AN DAY MOJO GOING!!
