Jay Payton. Does Billy Beane know who to acquire, or what? I just got back from AN Day (which was, officially, "hecka fun") and I'll keep this writeup brief because it should soon be replaced by devo's much anticipated AN Day diary, complete with pictures.
What I will say, in briefly summing up the game, is this:
- The A's play nearly .650 ball when Kirk Saarloos starts. Not bad at all.
- Loving memo to Kirk: After you hit 70 pitches, stay away to the lefty power hitters. Just a suggeshee.
- Huston Street, maybe a little nervous today pitching in front of Eck on his day? Even if so, he truly did a Zito-debut-like job in the 9th!
