The A's and Rich Harden with a 5-3 record and a 2.15 ERA take on the Blue Jays and Gustavo "The Fly" Chacin with a 6-5 record and a 3.59 ERA. Seriously, the guy looks like Jeff Goldblum after the mishap. And those shades certainly don't help.
Chacin pitched six strong innings against the A's earlier this year at Oakland which had the crowd asking each other, who the heck is this guy? Harden returns to his homeland, and let's hope he has the adrenaline level contained. He has a tendency to be amped in the first inning or two when he pitches in Toronto.
The A's lineup looks like this:
Kendall
Kotsay
Crosby
Chavez
Kielty
Byrnes
Swisher
Ginter
Ellis
Johnson winds up taking a seat despite having some of the better at-bats against a lefty yesterday. Not really sure why.
The Blue Jays send this lineup out against Harden:
Adams
Catalanotto
Wells
Hill
Zaun
Hinske
Johnson
Gross
Menechino
The A's desperately need this game since they will be facing Garland, Buerhle and Garcia in the upcoming Chicago series. They either win tonight or face the prospect of having to sweep in the South Side in order to be over .500 at the All Star break. Not a promising development.
LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!!
