Open Thread: Game 94 - A's at Anaheim

The A's and Barry Zito with a 7-8 record and a 3.74 ERA take on the Brentwood Angels of Buena Park and Paul Byrd with a 9-5 record and a 3.67 ERA.

It's good to be back in Northern California. I've got to tell you, when Zito was pitching that no hitter, I was listening to the Angels postgame show and that moron Rex Hudler actually said, "Just wait for the Angels to get a hold of the A's and put them in their place."

I really dislike that team. They have become the Yankees West, only Angels fans have less knowledge and no history to fall back on (one championship doesn't count). Thus, I've added a new main poll for A's fans most despised team.

As for the game, Zito goes to the hill after his stellar performance last time out.

What's at stake? 6 1/2 games back as opposed to 8 1/2 and possibly a jump into second place as the Yankees are beating the Rangers.

The A's lineup looks like this:

Kendall
Kotsay
Crosby
Chavez
Hatteberg
Kielty
Johnson
Swisher
Ellis

The Angels lineup looks like this:

Figgins
Erstad
Guerrero
Anderson
Molina
Rivera
Finley
Cabrera
Kennedy

The A's are 7-4 in series-deciding games so far this year. The A's are 41-14 when scoring 4 or more runs this year. That seems to be the magic number. And the A's also have the best record in the majors since May 30 - they are 31-13 and have the second best ERA in the majors since that time at 3.08 compared to St. Louis' 3.05.

LET'S GO A'S!!!!!!!
