Open Thread: Game 89 - A's vs. Rangers

Sorry to interrupt the "War And Peace" diary and its (currently) 327 entries, but there's a game about to start, featuring players of various VORPs, hotness quotients, and the like.

Kenny Rogers keeps threatening to pitch, but tonight, once again, he is serving in the important role of "tomorrow's starter". This fine evening, Barry Zito is opposed by John Wasdin, whose major league credentials include...well, pretty much that he's never assaulted a cameraman. It's not that Wasdin has been a bad pitcher in the major leagues, it's just that he's given up 121 HRs in 695 innings. Basically, he's a good pitcher having a bit of an off-career.

Something to ponder while you cyber-enjoy the game. The Angels' blog, Halos Heaven, asked me to answer 5 A's-related questions--they will post their questions and my answers in their Monday pre-game thread. After the game, I'm going to post their questions (and my answers) and I will invite y'all to submit questions you would like me to ask them (I will then post our questions and their answers on our Monday pre-game thread). So think about what Angels-related questions you want me to ask, and then submit your suggestions (I'll pick 5 of them) on the post-game thread.

Tonight's starting lineups:
