The A's and Simmerin' Joe Blanton with a 1-6 record and a 6.13 ERA take on the Mets and Tom Glavine with a 4-5 record and a 4.56 ERA.
Blanton may be near the end of his rope in chances. The problem is that the A's don't have too many other pitchers to take his place. So he might get a longer rope than before.
The A's lineup looks like this, and as I suspected, the rejuvenated Hazy Shade of Ginter is back in the lineup (at third, nonetheless):
Crosby is in the fifth spot in the lineup, which is exactly where I want to see the kid.
The Mets counter with this group:
The A's get Smoltz and then Glavine within a week. You'd think this was 1999.
LET'S GO OAK-LAND!!!!!!! IT'S GOOD TO BE HOME AGAIN!
