Dan Haren with a 1-4 record and a 5.50 ERA goes against Tim "Bugs Bunny" Wakefield with a 3-1 record and a 2.97 ERA. Why Bugs Bunny? Because he throws nothing but slow balls. One...two...three strikes, you're out. Often on the same pitch.
Maybe this is the pitcher that get Chavez healthy. He has a career .333 average off the knuckleballing Wakefield with seven hits in 21 at-bats including four doubles.
I'm driving back to Sacramento finally today, so I'm going to open up an extra thread just in case.
Hopefully, we don't make it three straight shutouts, but the way Wakefield has pitched this year so far, it very well could happen. And this time, you would be able to blame it on good pitching. Wakefield has been really good this young season.
LET'S GO OAKLAND!!!
