Open Thread: Third Spring Training Game

The A's get a crack at Milwaukee again today. On a side note, suddenly an unexpected bullpen spot is opened up for three to four months with Chad Bradford having surgery for a herniated disc.

Huston, you have an opportunity. Seize it, son, seize it.

On another note, I want to say that Mark Mulder is forgiven. We all make mistakes in life, and if he said something boneheaded regarding Oakland, at least he manned up and realized it.

Contacted Thursday in Florida, Mulder said he wished he'd chosen his words more carefully.

"I didn't mean for it to seem like I didn't love it in Oakland. I did," Mulder said. "Everyone who knows me knows how much I loved it. And I wasn't saying I'm glad I got traded at all. I don't know, I guess I just got carried away [praising St. Louis]. The fans in Oakland were awesome to me, and I think the A's are a great organization, too.

"What I meant [in saying 'better organization'] is that the Cardinals can afford to keep their star players. That's all. I didn't mean any disrespect. That's the last thing I'd want to do."

Now, it will be interesting to see if he regains his form sooner rather than later or if he becomes the next Rick Ankiel. He got bombed in his spring training debut for the Cardinals yesterday.
