OT :Willing To Give AN Home Discount !!!

As a season ticket holder to not just the A's, but the Raiders also, I have access to 3rd deck, endzone ( NOT Mt Davis )seats to the Raiders/Patriots game on Sunday , 12/14/08.

I have extra tickets left over from a group event on my job. These are actually pretty good seats. I am willing to do an AN dicount as I do not want to get stuck holding the tickets. As I stand to lose whatever discount, I give, please understand that I cannot just give them away.  However, I am willing to cut a deal to my fellow faithful A's fans who are also Raiders/Patriots/NFL fans at large.

As you all know, this is the return of Randy Moss & the Patriots who need to be booed in the manner that they so richly deserve.

So, let the negotiating begin. The tickets are $46 at face value. And please , if you are able to pay full price don't try to cut a deal just for the sake of a deal. I do have a soft heart for those who wish to go to games and just can't afford to which is one reason why I am dong this.

On another note, I have an extra Zito designed tie, and a pink Breat Cancer day handbag, not the little change purses that they gave away, but the ones that match the green ones, as well as an extra deck of the 2008 A's players cards. The cards released themselves but the thin wrapping but are a complete set. The A's items are free to whomever wishes to give them a home.

They have been  languishing in my closet for far too long. I know I'll never wear them. So, I'm gonna take the opportunity to hand them over to whomever wants them & most 'importantly will be at the ballpark on Friday & Sunday. Section 128 row 9 seat 2.

First come, first serve. To wit:

Australia World Baseball Classic Cap 7 3/8

Green, gold & white "510" cap 7 3/8

A's white /geen background 2008 Spring Training cap

1 green A;s brim with a red/white/blue letter A

2  red/white /blue A's brims  ( blue with white A trimmed with red with red athletics on white trim on the brim

1 gray khaki cap with green & gold letters

1 green athletics cactus league cap

1 gray Opening Day 2004 gray cap

1 pink SF All Star Game Cap ( hey, I felt it was a historical thing at the time, so shoot me).

Unfortunately, all my  other caps are "soiled" with autographs. Although, I'll bring a coupla of those, I just don't feel like using my limited brain cells in trying to figure out the signatures.

Does Anyone Have an Extra Pink Giveaway Purse to sell?

I was sick as 2-3 dawgs on Saturday and was unable to get to the game.  I had to be some kind of sick to miss my Athletics. So, if anyone has one they are willing to sell it would be most appreciated.

By the way, let's see a show of hands of those whoa re delighted that the walk-off sulker was totally upstaged by Carlos Zambrano.

And, this no no has to be jsut one more dagger in Curt Schilling's heart.

Quasi-Fan Photo Day on Saturday....

Remember back in the day when the fans could go on the field, on the warning track  and players would work their way around the warning track & fans could take pictures ?

Well, this Saturday we can go on the field as the players are doing their  pre-game work-outs . It is optional as to whether the players will stop and pose.  ( snapfish photo day) I think this  is to encourage folks to use snapfish.

I mean, they might as well  pose inasmuch as.....

Anyway, they'll let us on the field at 11:05 a.m.

This has always been a blast in the past.

They're Baaaaaack !!!!!

The Autumn Wind is a pirate

Blustering in from sea

With a rollicking song he sweeps along

swaggering so boisterously

His face is weather beaten

he wears a hooded sash

with his silver hat about his head

and a bristly black moustache

He growls as he storms the country

A villain big and bold

and the trees all shake and quiver and quake

as he robs them of them of their gold

The Autumn Wind is a Raider

Pillaging just for fun

He'll knock you down and upside down

And laugh when he's conquered and won.

Oakland Raiders vs San Francisco 49ers

Finally, ESPN Ziggy Love

OAKLAND, Calif. (AP) -- Brad Ziegler spent the first two months of the season pitching in the minors. Now the Oakland reliever is making plans to send some of his gear to Cooperstown.

Ziegler set the major league record for scoreless innings to start a career as the Athletics' bullpen threw 4 1/3 shutout innings to bail out starter Dana Eveland in a 6-5 win over the Texas Rangers on Sunday.

Ziegler gave up two singles in two innings to extend his scoreless streak to 27 and break a record that had stood since 1907.

Afterward, the 28-year-old right-hander kept two balls from his outing but planned to send the rest -- along with a pair of his shoes and a hat -- to the Hall of Fame.

"I don't know if that's something I'd ever thought I'd have to do as long as it wasn't a real embarrassing moment or someone else's highlight, but it's pretty incredible," Ziegler said. "It's real special. I feel like I've worked real hard to get here. Thankfully it's not over yet. Hopefully we can keep it going."

This is only partial of the article so I hope I don't get us sued. I dont know how to post links. Can anyone enlighten me? This is from the Espn page.

Yankee. Stadium .Is .A .Lot .Of .Work

First let me preface by saying, I thoroughly hate the New York subway system. With the exception of the downtown business areas there are no escalators or elevators so you have to drag yourself and your luggage up multiple flights of stairs.

But it does have great air conditioning.

Anyway, I just staggered back form the A's/Yankees series. It was hot, but not as humid as I thought. Unfotunately, my seat was on the top deck so  I felt extremely removed from the action. In order to get to my seat, I had to go up 5, count them, 5 sets of escalators. Coming down was even more fun as the escalators wree turned off so you had to walk down, 5, count them 5 escalators.

Now to get back to the subway,  you have to walk around the stadium and then down the street, So consider walking across the BART bridge at the Coliseum  oh, maybe, 2-3 times and then getting squeezed into a long corridor designed for 300 people that held about 1000  and then increase the temperature to about 101 degrees. Finally, squeeze all of the air out and ban the use of any air conditioning or fans.Leave abosutely  no space between any shoulders which forces the crowd to move as one.

Batting Practice was no fun cuz the only access you had to players was at the very far sidelines. So, you could not connect with the infielders.  The only players you had access to were the ones who are notoriously known for treating the fans as backdrops and who never, no matter how many kids call out to them even acknowledged that they heard them ( I'm looking at you Dallas Braden & Santiago Casilla). It's not like they were doing  reps at the time, they were just hanging around. At least , Jeremy Blevins did sign for a child.

I went to Monument Park and waited for the rush and the thrill........Meh,. I guess you have to be a Yankee fan to feel whatever you are supposed to feel.

Anyway, the Yankee fans did not seem to care a tinker's damn or ar a rat's azz about the A"s fans that were there. It's like, I was expecting some good natured ribbing..something. Nothing .It was only when I put on  my ten gallon foam hat that I got any recognition as an A's fan. The guy next to me said, when I commented on the lack of comradery.

"You gotta realize, it may be a bigger thing to you A's fans, to us, you're just a team that comes in six games out of a year. " ( Have we been rendered so inconsequential, Billy?)

One more thing, that stood out. was that  the fans would howl in indignation each time the umpire would call a strike. Like, how dare they.....

Anyway, I didn't really feel anything while at the games. I really felt numb and really did not enjoy myself at all. Even when I've been at away games, when the A's have lost, I've had a ball with the fans.

So, I can say I've been to Yankee Stadium...big whoops.

Who Wants MY Free Ticket for 6/26/08 ?

I'm 85% sure I will be unable to attend tomorrow's game. I will know for sure tomorrow early in the morning.

In case I can't go I want to have someone ready to e-mail my ticket  to.

Section 128 Row 9 Seat 2

Okay, I need some more words.  This seat is right behind the bullpen and has a great view of the infield, especially Eric Chavez/Jack Hannahan & their fantasatic fieldwork.  Great position to watch the bully boys warming up & easy access to the Ziegler.

 Please respond to JeanniferK@sbcglobal.net

OT: Any Soccer Fans Here?

When I went to purchase a ticket last week, I happened to see the ad for the Earthquakes vs David Beckham's team, whoever they are.

So, for a lark I decided to purchase a ticket. The problem is that I know next to nothing about soccer. I know about goals and kicks to break the tie game at the end.

What are basics that a new soccer fan would need to know & look out for? How long are the games, are there any Earthquake superstars? And, most importantly, what are the chances that I'll get to see some hooligans?

It's Gonna Feel So Weird To Get In Line, Get My

Bobblehead and then go sit in my seat until game time. I'm so used to out of town folks  or those who have to work asking me to get a doll for them. But, I guess Suzuki is not  so popular. I imagine the dolls will be avalible for a longer period of time because many have to arrive after work. Will be interesting to see how this will work on a Friday.

What is really gonna suck is if Anaheim Angels fans walk off with them.

Guess, I'll just enjoy batting practice for once.
