Around SBN: Steve McNair Found Shot to Death

ANtics Episode 3.07: Buck Mania!

Forget about the 5th starter battle. The most drama around this year's Spring Training has been the emergence of Travis Buck. With his wild Swisher-esque hair and a Wade Boggs/Tony Gwynn-like .366 average, while leading the team with 6 doubles, Buck is taking Phoenix Municipal by storm. Hold on tight, and get ready for Buck Mania!

Play in Sacto

and will be up by June/July when some new blood is needed to spark the offense.

That's totally the A's m.o.

I swear

I went to high school with the chick on the left in that bottom left panel.

Probably just an uncanny resemblance, but wow.

she could be Barry Zito's younger sister.

Write-In

Buck will start the season with the A's, but mainly on the bench with some late inning appearances.  However, when Kotsay gets off the DL, back to AAA for T.Buck.

Leave Travis in AAA to develop

It doesn't do anything but ruin his development
by letting him rot in Oakland. Wait until there is
a full time opening before bringing him up.

Buck Forty Five

I'd like to see Buck come up sooner rather than later, since he doesn't seem to have much left to prove in the minors.

From an A's perspective, there's not much downside to parking Swisher at 1B forever, either.

Hmmm....

Agree with sending him to Sacto

but with a recall earlier than Sept if he tears up AAA ball this season.  Wish he could start the season with the A's but find that unlikely until someone else goes down to create a slot for him.  Or trade Johnson or whatever.  Figure on a June callup if team is doing poorly at the plate (highly likely LOL)...

Buck The Trend

Start him in AAA, if he does well for a month or two, bring him up for a shot.

His fan club should be named "The Buck Wilds"

I'd join.

Hits own forehead...

Now why didn't the ANtics call it Buck Wild instead of Buck Mania?

I swear I thought of that yesterday and messed up. Dumb dumb dumb.
