It is coming down to the Big 3

As much as they've struggled and disappointed us this year, we all know what it's coming to - Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of Mudler, Zito, and Hudson.

Isn't that the way it should be? Say all you want about their inconsistencies, but there's a glimmer of hope in my mind that some magical things could be happening on the mound this weekend.

Here's to the Big 3 pitching like the Big 3.

The Big Three aren't going to get a chance to blow it this weekend; Redman's going to take care of it today. By Friday night, the A's season will be over.

So mathematically, they'll still have a shot after Redman blows it. If he blows it. OK, when he blows it.

Hey, at least they have their king of blowing it on the mound too. Maybe that's what our non-existant offense needs.

I know they can't be eliminated today; I meant they'll be eliminated by Friday night's game. If they go into that series against Anaheim two games back, they'd have to sweep Anaheim to win the division. I think we can all agree that that's not going to happen.

Mulder, Zito and Hudson can pitch the 3 best games of this season, but if the A's offense continues down the same path, it won't matter. 1-0 Friday, 1-0 Saturday, 1-0 Sunday. Season OVER

faith in the big 3

have we ever questioned how good the big 3 were until a month and a half ago? probly not. Does mark mulder know how important friday's game is? of course, hes not retarded. we have our best three pitchers goin on games we need to win. so i dont see what everybody's down about. so pull your heads out of yer asses and have a little faith in our aces.

As negative as my thoughts have been these past few days, I do have some hope in these guys. They're the reason we've enjoyed four straight postseason trips in a row.

And I have a feeling they will. This is it. 3 games against Anaheim. Win this series and the A's will be in NY next week (or Boston). Lose and you're left to ponder what could have been.
