Can you believe this crap?!?!?!
Ok, we all know that I ADORE NICK SWISHER, and there was nothing better than watching him charge the mound. It was cool. Nick has always played it cool, laid back, etc. He had to do what he had to. I wouldn't put up with that crap either. Padilla has always been a bitch. I've never like the guy. He's a pitcher that plays dirty.
So anyway, I'm just googling myself around the internet and I came upon this Here
For one, calling Nick Swisher a sissy because he went to tackle Padilla is stupid. When I was taught to scrap, I was told you go for the waist. You go for the take down. You knock them down, hold them down, and start throwing fists. How is that sissy? Even Swish admits that he wasn't in best scrapping form!!
If you watch the fight, other Rangers players jump on Swish, and where's Padilla? walking away from the dog pile.
I once saw a shirt that said "Don't make fun of Texas, it's not nice to make fun of retards" and this guy proves it.
I had to vent, and I thought that, of all places, it might be fun to toss around here.

Someone saying something stupid on the internet?
No way!
Site isn't loading for me right this second, though.

Ahh, it loaded now. Yep, they've got some...
...idiots to be sure, especially the one who got all pissed off when rightfully told how it really was - that the Rangers acted like bitches because Swisher was owning them.

I'm sure we have our fair share of idiot fans too

Yeah, but it wasn't just that ALL the Texas fans
in the thread were for Padilla plunking Swisher, nor that they were all for calling Swisher a Sissy for charging the mound...
But that the owner of the Blog was the one calling him out.

alot of there fans called out the pitcher
and sissys dont chanrge the mound. ever herd of Hoce Gracie texas fans? he could take you too the ground and choke you out or snap an arm in about 10 seconds. get used to the sissy comments because of his hair in ponytails photo that every magazine and tv program likes to show. Personally I'm glad he charged the mound. I remember Mcgwire getting popped all the time and never doing anything about it but a hard stare.

Does anyone remember...
the game with Dave Stewart pitching at the Coliseum, where plunked I think an (Indians?) player. The batter of course tried to retaliate and rushed the mound, only to have Dave "the original bulldog death-stare master" Stewart basically pull a pro-wrestling move on him with a headlock and pile driver. i will always remember that game because it really showed the tough persona that he really was....forgot which exact game it was, anyone?

I remember Stewart karate-kicked Indians...
...manager Pat Corrales back in the 80s when Corrales tried to go at him in a bench-clearing incident in the Coliseum.

It was the first game Dave Stewart
ever pitched in for Oakland ... summer of '86 ... LaRussa (manager for less than a week, I think) brought him in to mop up vs. the Indians ... we were down something like 8-0. First thing Stewart does is nail Tony Bernazard with a pitch. Corrales comes out of the dugout to complain to the umpire, and as he's walking back, he yells something to Stewart ... they meet at the first-base line, and Corrales tries what looks to be some sort of pseudo-karate kick ... Stewart knocks his leg down with his left fore-arm and throws one of the most perfect right hooks I've ever seen ... DOWN GOES CORRALES!
Best baseball fight I've ever seen ensued ... I remember Dave Kingman sitting on Otis Nixon's shoulders and just pummeling him ... in flys Joe Carter and he clocks Kingman, and on and on it went.
A week or so later, LaRussa decides to start Stewart in Boston vs. Clemens, and the rest is history ....
Ahhhhh, memories.

Andy Allanson
...was another notch in Dave Stewart's belt. I don't remember the exact circumstances. I think this is the incident that ST referred to. Stewart had the death stare and unlike an unamed rookie lefty knew how to wear a baseball cap. Tony Phillips once said that Dave Stewart did want to get you out, he wanted to kick your ass.

rangers injuries
Daniels communicated with Oakland general manager Billy Beane on Monday, telling him that Sunday's affair was an isolated incident. Daniels doesn't want this to escalate into a blood feud with the Athletics and Beane agreed with Daniels' assessment on the situation.
The Rangers did not escape unscathed in the incident. Both Hank Blalock and Jarrod Saltalamacchia suffered neck injuries while trying to pull apart the combatants in the scuffle. Saltalamacchia's injury was described as whiplash.
"I only thought you could get whiplash in a car accident," Washington said.

Is it wrong that I want a blood feud? The rest
of our division is so bland after we get the Angels games out of the way. Bring it on Texas!

Padilla is NOT a Texan
I know many Texans and they nice and kind people. Most are the type of people who will help out people in need. Example; Katrina evacuatee. NO other state helped those people out more than Texas did! The fact is the guy is an A-hole, loser and he is dickless.
This from SI's power ranking for this week:
"Swisher got major points from everybody for taking on the punk Padilla. (John Donovan, SI)"

Yeah, whatever.
I'll just throw that onto the very large pile of things I already have to dislike about Texas.

What do you have against
I don't remember them ever throwing at Swisher.
Texas hasn't done anything wrong. They gave us big bread, big cows, big belt buckles and lovely ladies of ever PERSUASION.

You DON'T like?
Is that something different in Missouri than what it is in California?

I like that.
Let's keep it positive and CGV-free. Here's a list of a few other things I like about Texas:
My friends that are from Texas;
The pitching of Huston Street and Justin Duchscherer, who grew up in Texas;
The Dixie Chicks.

You know your pitcher is a dumb ass when you GM(texas) calls Beane and say he is sorry for the way his pitcher acted.

Well...
I'm glad to see that you found my post entertaining, even if you perhaps misinterpreted it. It was intended to be rather tongue-in-cheek...I am not a proponent of pitchers throwing at batters (particularly when they are throwing at them because they can't get them out), and that's one of the problems I have with Padilla.
That said...I do think rushing the mound and then diving at the pitcher's legs is silly, as I figure, if you are going to rush the mound to challenge a pitcher, do it for real. And I'm a little disappointed that I didn't get to see the two of them really square off, because it would have been one of the highlights of a pretty disappointing season (particularly since I can't stand Swisher).
So to be clear...I'm not in favor of pitchers throwing at batters, or in favor of batters rushing the mound. But if someone is going to rush the mound, I would like for them to at least come in swinging, so there is some entertainment value, rather than diving for the legs.

Waller's tackle was entertaining.
So was Hannahan piling on. Too bad about Saltalamacchia & Blalock getting hurt, though, seriously. That's why brawls are stupid, even when they're entertaining.

saltamacchia's injury
could cost me a repeat championship in my law school fantasy baseball league which only allows weekly roster changes. i will kick padilla's ass if that happens.

Salty & Hank both started tonight... so I guess they weren't that badly hurt...
