New Blog: The Boxing Bulletin for Boxing Fans!

Wow.

Reading all this hate just makes me cringe.  I thought I ditched all of that BS back on the Fan Forum of oaklandahtletics.com

Grow up, both of you, I don't know who is right or wrong, but who cares, I am assuming we all have one thing in common, our love of our OAKLAND ATHLETICS

LETS GO OAKLAND!!!

I miss when
the people at oakland athletics dot com didn't know about this site.

pet peeve
You just hit one of my pet peeves.  I hate how most people on this site talk down about the other site.  Yes, it has really gone to hell over there...but mostly because the cream of the crop has come over here.  There was a time when there was some good banter back and forth, some colorful personalities.

Hell, even recently, the board came together to support Michael Blount's (raptorman on those boards) time in Iraq, sending over A's merchandise and other goodies to make the experience a little less terrible.

I'm not saying thats a better board than this one, or anything like that: I just hate that it seems to be a common theme on this site to trash the main site.  I've seen some names on this site that I recognize from the old site (ironically, I was not Sean on the other site), and they are good contributors.

Horse and buggy
Those were probably some good times riding around that way but thank goodness for progression.  I can't imagine the site being as good without the so-called newbies around here but it could probably be proven more easily than RTM.

Don't hate.
There's no need to make comments like that, man. Plenty of awesome folks over on the other side.

Sorry
to everyone who sympathizes with the other side.  What I meant in my head was that I missed when this was a small site so that a diary could stay around for a week or so before being pushed out by other diaries. Like where everybody would know your name - that kind of atmosphere.

I meant nothing disrepectful to the folks over at oaklandathletics.com - my wording was just understandably misinterpreted and in reference to the diary's wording.

Find the family's blog...Blez or someone else posted it in the comments.  A lot more detail.

Real sad story.  Makes you a little scared about whether or not your world could get turned upside down at any moment like that...

Then you're not monsters
but, juxtaposition is still worrisome.  sharon's comment is right below discussion of 10 yr old's death.  maybe, not a good place to comment even if its a recurring theme around here.

Honestly,

That's kind of a sign to highjack a thread; usually Sharon says that phrase after people start overreacting about an A's loss or an injury. She says, "WE'RE ALL GOING TO DIE!" and then people pile on.

I PROMISE it had nothing to do with the saddest story we've read on the site in a long time.

I am SO sorry we scared you!

None of "us" ...
seriously took you to post that as such and in that manner ...

You are always humerous and I know you did not mean anything by your posting of "We're All Gonna Die!" about Jacob Field.

As I said in the post game day thread, I've survived Hodgkin's and an Aortic Dissection (just less two years ago), why I'm still here, I have no idea, by all accounts (and odds) I should be long gone.

You just keep doin' what you're doin' ... Some of "us" (read: me) really appreciate your sense of humor and it adds some light to our days that start out dark.
