There Needs to be a Poll
There are no rules to pronouncing acronyms, so there's bound to be some variation. Nonetheless, I'll bet there are some acronyms we all pronounce the same way. For example, I bet we all read AN as "ay-en" and not as "anne".
Similar to AN, other acronyms are pronounced by reading the letters aloud: I bet we all say "el-oh-el" and not "lull"; "de-el-de" and not "dild". But not all acronym's are pronounced letter by letter: I, for one, pronounce QOTM as "quote 'em".
All this by way of an introduction to a recent debate on the pronunciation of NRAF. Let Ay-En decide!
Remember, this is a vote on the pronunciation of an acronym. It is not a debate on whether I'm right or Poppy is. It is not a popularity contest between me and Poppy. Because we all know how that would turn out...

What about OPS?
It oughta be en-raff. Poppy ain't no NRAF; she ain't gonna tell me what I can and can't call myself.

While we're on the topic...
Oh, I'm sorry, this thread wasn't supposed to be all about me? Well, somebody's got to take up the slack left by "Oh-Ay-Kay-Tee-to the double o-En".

Hmm, link had short shelf life
H.R.3162 Uniting and Strengthening America by Providing Appropriate Tools Required to Intercept and Obstruct Terrorism (USA PATRIOT ACT) Act of 2001 (Enrolled as Agreed to or Passed by Both House and Senate)
...if you didn't alreay know, then there! There's some useless trivia for you. I bet many people have no idea that the Patriot Act is really a full fledged acronym that has quickly been abbreviated in our every day speech; that is, of course, "every day" if you're a policy wonk.
