This is a butt thread of a different kind. I made sure to take LOTS of pictures at yesterday's A's/Giants wives softball game. And no, Kevin, none of you. Sorry. You just can't compete with Marines Scutaro.

I loved the view from my seat:

6/23 - 80's Night... or if you're a Giants fan, 1980-1988 Night
I had to chuckle at this.

They showed a bunch of 80s Giants commercials and highlights and such. Funny, they seemed to have left out any clips from 1989. Can you imagine why?

Even though I may not love the Giants, I was pretty impressed by AT&T Park (AKA the Phone Booth). You can watch from behind the right field wall, outside the stadium. And then you turn around and have a nice view of the Bay. I thought this was very cool. I haven't really been to the park much to notice this, but I really like it.

Much to BCG's delight, Kotsay came out to fielding practice rocking the old-school high socks! This is the first time he's worn high socks since like, ever. However, he and later Swish pulled them down later in the game. We won, I can't complain.

The lady looks ticked. What a glamorous job to have.

In case you haven't already heard... 8 of the starting 9 came out in high socks. Including...

The cutest A's significant others

in my opinion (as a female) are definitely Alex Chavez, Holly Johnson, and Danny Haren's fiance Jessica - she's a brunette!!! I was sitting in the section right next to theirs in New York and all the wives were out in force. While almost all of them were completely dolled up in high heels, perfectly done hair and makeup, I actually saw Alex Chavez in jeans and a sweatshirt holding Diego one day, and Jessica was in SNEAKERS! <gasp>

Is it just me or are the A's wives the hottest around the league? Guess that's because the players are definitely the hottest.

That is really great to hear that they were actually COMFORTABLE at the games, wow imagine that! I also agree with your choices, though I like Kotsay's wife too, but HoJo is my favorite cuz she's cute AND reppin' the brown hair haha and it's good to hear Haren's fiance is brunette too! Not that there's anything wrong with blondes... but there just aren't enough brunettes with ballplayers and it's a shame.

I know the single guys, ie swish and huston, get their share of groupies but do the married guys really chase after groupie tail? When your wives are that attractive is there any need to?

Personally I think groupies (and I define groupies as someone set out with the intention to sleep with a player just for bragging rights) are pathetic. I would never be able to attend a game again if I simply had a one night stand with a player.

I think it's pretty common knowledge that baseball players partake freely of the groupie buffet. "On the DL" is a whole baseball groupie blog that is only the tip of the iceberg.

Also, the attractiveness of the wife plays only a minor role in fidelity, I believe. If you have a rock-solid, tight relationship, then okay there is a tie that binds. But imagine, you are a male away from your wife and family and there are literally dozens of very attractive women who want to sleep with you. Hard to resist, especially if the only thing tying you to your wife is passing attraction and legal obligations.

If you can... find out from anyone where we could possibly get our hands on shirts like Swisher's "Do the dAmn thing". I've also seen Cockrell in a "Make your weAkness your strength" shirt that looks pretty cool. I've never seen them on sale at the Coliseum or anywhere else, so I'm assuming they're solely for team circulation.

and have kids? i assume the majority of A's players range from their early to late 20's. i'm in the same age range and i cant imagine getting married that young and already having a family w/ seeral kids lol. since i'm still in the college phase just having fun and partying

It was just a small store...

I'm thinking about working on a Welcome Back MaEl project. The store had a perfect MaEl doll... ON SALE! But it turns out to be priced wrong. I'm still mulling it over. I'd have to do some painting. And sewing. Possible leather work. I also don't really want to run the Bobble Village stuff in the ground.

I almost killed me making it...

My mom saw me on Sunday night. She asked why I had glitter in my hair and on my face. Mom, you don't want to know. My brother asked what "RE, RE, RE, RE" meant. I had to lie and tell him it was "er, er, er" as in "Jennifer". I'm ashamed.

I seriously hope Blez was kidding about sending it to Duke... and I really wish it hadn't been put on the front page. Oh well.

This set makes me feel like I was actually there! For some reason Holly Johnson is wearing DJ's uniform from last year, that's why I was all confused before. Alex Chavez looks as beautiful as ever, and I love the pictures of Justin and the kid!! Actually I like all the pictures of the kids.
