ANtics Episode 2.9: Early Trends, Odds and Ends

With the season just a little over one tenth of the way complete, the A's haven't exactly dominated the field so far - they've shown signs of brilliance, and often, quite a different story. While some, like Swisher and Chavez, have excelled, others haven't been pulling their weight. The ANtics looks in on 2006's early results.

Gerald Perry
Glad to see he has had such a positive impact. It takes a lot of skill to have your team batting in the top 30 :)

Terrific
As always!  Just what I needed after the game today.

Wonderful!
I needed this. On the way home, the thought totally came to my mind, "Hey, it's Sunday! ANtics!" That totally perked me up after this loss. And it is a great ANtics as always! And thanks for using my pics again, I appreciate it!

You are way too kind.
Guess why I use your pics? Because they're good! And because they're different than the standard AP/Getty stuff. I guarantee you I had some other AN-generated photos that almost made the cut yesterday, but they'll have to wait for future episodes.

Thanks for the comments.

Who is it in the last frame?
Because that ain't Kendall (notice the Batting Gloves) and I think he's left handed. You sure it isn't Melhuse?

If it isn't Kendall...
Then that's the second time I've done that in 2006! For some reason, I was pretty sure it was him when I posted that. Grr...

I'll look into it. For now, put on a happy face, and assume it is Kendall.

Whoever it is is RH...
Look at the helmet. :)  Maybe it is Kendall; while the guy does have gloves on, the guy also has what appears to be a permanent 5 o'clock shadow.

by anomaly_kat on Apr 23, 2006 8:07 PM PDT to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

so many conflicting clues...
RH, could be Kendall...

Batting gloves, not Kendall...

Permastubble, could be Kendall...

Appears to be wearing a ST jersey?  But also appears to be at Coliseum...

so confused...

;)

To me it looks like Kotsay
(but tastes like chicken). Maybe some helmets have ear flaps on both sides now?

Okay...
...I'm actually pretty sure it's one of the exhibition games at the Coliseum. That's a ST jersey and old helmet (not the new one with "gills"), and cold-weather clothes under the jersey.

But that's not Kendall's bat.

louis ?
Ty for the smile. BTW did you ever get any feedback from any of the A's when you gave them the copies last Summer?

by IM4Oakgal on Apr 23, 2006 8:21 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Short answer, no.
I didn't expect huge accolades. They see lots of crazy fans. I'm just another nut. But I did hand out the copies at Spring Training. It was fun to do, and if I'm a complete stalker, maybe I'll print out all from 2006 next Spring in Arizona. Then again... Blez probably will have fired me by then for a lack of quality.

fishing for compliments. These antics are funny and you know it.

Does anyone remember?
The A's having regular catcher hitting a home run?

I remember seeing Damian Miller getting a slam against Cincy...
