ANtics Episode 2.32: Milton Bradley, Mr. Intensity

In a four-game series against Detroit where nearly all the A's struggled, right fielder Milton Bradley showed an intense desire to will the team on his back - hitting for power and average, making circus catches in the outfield and playing through pain. The ANtics looks in at his performance and what this means for his future on the club...

It's called karma...
Take all the time to make it, post it via FTP, and now my hosting site hates me. Guaranteed, it'll work again in a minute.

Are you saying that
your Bradley ANtics is only working about half the time? How ironic!
I like Cindi. A. She never pretends to know more than she does. B. She has unbridled enthusiasm for her "Hotties," and isn't afraid to show it. -IM4Oakgal

Nice.
It's working now.

Good Work!

M-Train!
I think I can, I think I can!
Thanks louis.
Let's hope he works like that next year too!

Umm . . .
I couldn't help but notice how awkward it looks when Milton makes that turn on third base while doing his home run trot. The two times he did it in game two, I cringed thinking he would sprain his ankle while rounding third. Hmm, maybe it's just me? Look at the picture above, it speaks for itself.

Excellent, Louis
My family and I have enjoyed Antics all summer.  You really have a way with putting together great photos (and balloons).  We hope you continue the strip through the long winter.
The score is _always_ 0-0 until the final out. Each pitch is a new ballgame.

Thanks!
FanSinceKC, I appreciate it. The ANtics wouldn't exist without AN. We're just here to have fun - and I'm glad you and the family have enjoyed it. Plenty more to come (until Blez bans me).

I am a heterosexual male, but
BILLY BEAN IS SO DAMN HANDSOME.

Don't confuse the two...
Our Billy Beane is a handsome former major leaguer and the GM of the A's (with an e on the end of his name). The Billy Bean you link to is handsome former major leaguer and one the very few publicly gay athletes.

It is really late on teh East Coast
And so I momentarily thought that was OUR Billy, even though he is much younger gayer than our Billy. Did anyone else know about his Bizaro Billy, who lacks an "e" at the end of his "bean"?

I would guess
that both command a high market value.

Speaking of this touchy subject....
another thing we can all get fired for and sent to a re-education camp and share the same gulag with Psycho Steve Lyons, I remember Glenn Bourke in the days at Oakland when hardly anyone went and you can sit anywhere you wanted. I overheard some of his conversation one day ,and you talk about one wild child--well--Glenn Bourke died some years ago from Aids.

Lyons Fired
i dont know if this has been posted already but steve lyons has been fired. i'm personally happy. i think they should fire that entire team http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/playoffs2006/news/story?id=2625500 i hated that broadcast on FOX, but so did FOX. i'm a proud A's fan, I can't wait til next year. =D

What's funny is that
I heard Lyons make this comment live, and it seemed to me only as objectionable as the rest of the broadcast, which was itself a firable offense to be sure.

I love the panel
with Macha and the ump!

Hope you do some of these during the off-season...

As far as I am concerned...
AN has no off-season. AN is a 24/7/365 shop. You might see less traffic, fewer posters, and less-frequent ANtics, but the optimism and discussion is non-stop. We're always open.

Poor Melhuse
Didn't see the light of day for the past couple of months and still getting made fun of on AN.  ;-)

by Blez on Oct 15, 2006 11:46 PM PDT reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Sorry... :-)
I couldn't decide if it should be him or Kielty or Perez. Since the love/hate relationship with Melhuse and Macha has already been established via the ANtics, I figured it was safe.

In our home, we love "Milhouse".

So true
Watching Bradley play was one of the few bright spots over the last 4 games, I hope he stays an A.

I always enjoy these- thanks for doing them! (Poor Melhuse... switch hitter, backseat catcher, and designated fall guy...)

Thanks for the wonderful ANtics, louis!  They always bring a smile to my face.  And I hope we still have them during the dreaded offseason.
