AN Comic: Eric Byrnes - Super Hero! (With Poll!)

Eric Byrnes has eluded explanation for too long - hitting into the cycle one day, going 0-4 with 2 outfield misplays in the next! What are we to assume but that he is misunderstood - he cannot be entirely normal - which leads to only one conclusion - super powers!

We put our chief reporters on the prowl, and this is what they found in their initial investigations - a life in the day of our superhero!

that's great
I've figured it out. Eric Byrnes IS the Greatest American Hero

Believe it or not, I'm a-walkin' on air...

Wasted? What about our staring contests? And the way we always knew what football coaches should have done? - Homer

I could swear that was a close-up of Bobby Kielty
and not the Greatest American Hero... hmmm...

Yes!
We have to hire Robert Kulp to be sure that Byrnes is always wearing The Suit.

Hopefully more will be soon to come?

Cool stuff!
I wasn't even tempted to vote for the "FIRE MACHA NOW" option. ;)
GO A's!!!

That's HILARIOUS.
I love it! I'd love to see more from our superhero... Though I don't see why there couldn't be a scantily-clad closer, too. ;-)

HAHAHA.....
can crosby be a special guest on the next issue?

by TrizzleNizzle510 on Jul 9, 2005 12:30 PM PDT reply actions   0 recs

Sure...
...but you need to come up with some supervillains. Who has Byrnes wronged greatly enough to want to take over the world with evil, fiendish plots...

Oh, and we have to use his "Ron Mexico" name when he's not in superhero mode. "Mild-mannered Franc Guiana is a mail clerk at the Oakland Tribune..."

Byrnes' arch-nemesis
Should be Jason "Ironleg" Varitek...

foolishgame his alter ego?

That, my friend,
is the funniest thing I've seen all week. Definitely make more.
"It felt like I ran into a MACK truck. I think every morning I wake up I'm a little dazed. For some reason, I'm used to hitting things with my head." - Byrnes

Could we just overpay Byrnes
to be the team mascot?  The fans love him and he's good for morale.  He could just stage crazy stunts before the games in a Captain America outfit.  I'd be there every night to watch him.

This is very funny, by the way.  Thanks.

Watch out batman - It's Byrnesie to the rescue!
O.K., this is Jimmie V's wife - a baseball challenged individual who has become a convert after meeting Byrnes at the FanFest... Maybe we can get him into one of the tight superhero outfits - green speedo maybe?  With an A in the front?  Can't wait to see the next installment of "Byrnes - Super Hero!"

EB's arch enemies...
are clearly Macha and Beane. The former uses his Baffling Batting Order to make EB disappear, and the latter plots to exile him out of town so that EB can't save the day...

oh, wait, I'm not Foolish Game....

"Yucky Head Bad Guy!" - my 5-year-old daughter to Manny Ramirez. She got ice cream immediately afterward.

Fantastic!
You are a comic genius! I can't wait for the other installments -- The Brain, Macho Man, The Mystic Curveball, Kid Closer, The Bullet from the Outfield. Man, what a colorful bunch.

Okay, can you match them up with their real names? These should be fairly easy.
