Crosby

Is it me or is Bobby Crosby a really intense player?  Whenever i see him make an out or an error or something, he looks like he is goign to kill someone. That is good to see though in a young player like Crosby because it really shows his passion for baseball. But man, he is really intense and looks kind of scary. Harold Reynolds said the A's will make the playoffs? I don't think he has ever been correct in his entire life, but lets hope he is this time.

I don't know why...
...but even though he's not the biggest guy on the field, I've always had the impression that Crosby throws the hardest and swings the hardest. He seems like a guy who could kick anyone's ass. I like that.

It seems...
like if you pissed him off, he'd come after you in a dark alley with Rich Harden and Eric Byrnes at his side.

Very, very scary, yet incredibly hot.

and that intensity
a quality we all admire, is also part of the reason he plowed into Ellis last year and swung so hard he cracked his rib this year.

It's all part of the package.

The benefits of a ...
... strong union. I understand that their "line in the sand" in recent negotiations with management was regarding local athlete endowment assessment. Word was, management wanted to outsource it.

Bobby Crosby
is actually pretty big.  He's listed at 6-3 and most likely now weighs a little over 200 pounds.  I got his autograph at spring training at the Library sports bar in Tempe this past March, and his height is pretty obvious when you see him close up.  I agree, he is also a very strong player.

Crosby looks big to me.
Especially, when I see him at the plate. Of course he is no wide load, but he is tall, and probably pretty muscular. I keep thinking he is standing too far from the plate now. But, either it is an optical illusion created by the center field cam being off center.  Or, his arms are that long.

and the problem with big
is big strike zone.

So far Crosby has been really disciplined. Let's see how he does as the pitchers start adjusting and changing the pattern.

Let's See How the Opposing Pitchers Do
as Crosby continues to adjust to them. Crosby became more disciplined after his rib injury, and he is going to continue to improve. Right now he is sacrificing power for average, but he will learn to put it all together.

Although
You could argue he hasn't really sacrificed power. His XBH percentage is terrific.

He has started to strike out a lot more in the last week or so, but he is still getting very good at bats.

As long as he realizes (which I am sure he does) that he is going to need to make some adjustments, I think he'll be okay.

My impression is that he works as hard as anyone on the team, and is going to bust his a** to make sure he does his best.
