With more than 100 votes in, more than half of you are demanding part two in the saga of Eric Byrnes - Superhero! You may recall In Part One of Our Story, Eric displayed a flair for the dramatic - sacrificing his body for would-be routine outs, going all out to pop up pitches that would be line drives for the ordinary hitter, and generally managing to keep his uniform dirty.

Today's episode, following our hero's 2 for 5 game against the White Sox, with a stolen base, delves deeper into the persona of Eric Byrnes - into his concerns and occasional dark feelings. While lacking the over-the-top action of Part One, Part Two builds character! Isn't that what your parents always told you to do - build character?

What truly defines Eric Byrnes

is when he's a superhero and a bonehead all in the same play.

Like when has the hustle to sprint all the way to 2nd base on a shallow pop-up that anyone else would give up on ... but fails to notice the Chavez is standing on 2nd base!

Or when in a play at home he puts his shoulder down like a fullback and runs right through the catcher ... but forgets to touch home plate!

I know what I want to do...

I want to print these out and give them to Byrnes. Pull a Zito with him. (I gave Z a comic during Fan Fest.) That would rock. I'd ask Sexy Lexy if he was aware that he was a sexy beast, give Byrnes the comics and hand out my Socks list to every baseball player in sight. Not a bad night. :)

Byrnes odd calesthenics...

Jimmie V's wife again, I'll have to get my own logon pretty soon. Love those calesthenics - especially when sitting in the LF Bleachers - nothing like a little shake to get the game started!

Keep them coming - can't wait for #3 in the life of our favorite superhero!!!
